Storage Coombe Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Storage Coombe in respect of the financial year ending 31 December. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. Storage Coombe recognises that modern slavery is a severe violation of fundamental human rights, and we are committed to acting ethically and responsibly in all areas of our business.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Coombe operates storage and related services and works with a range of suppliers including facilities management providers, equipment manufacturers, maintenance contractors, and professional service firms. Our supply chains span both local and international providers and include goods, materials, and services that support our storage facilities, technology infrastructure, and corporate functions.
We understand that certain sectors and geographies in which our suppliers operate may carry a higher risk of modern slavery. As a result, we are taking proactive measures to identify, assess, and reduce these risks through our procurement and supplier management practices.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Storage Coombe has a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour. We will not knowingly engage with or support any organisation involved in such practices. This commitment is reflected in our internal policies and in the expectations we set for our suppliers, contractors, and business partners.
We require that all parties we work with conduct their business in accordance with applicable laws and demonstrate respect for human rights. Where appropriate, our contractual terms include obligations relating to the prevention of modern slavery and the right for Storage Coombe to review and, if necessary, terminate relationships where serious concerns arise.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We are strengthening our supplier due diligence processes to help identify and manage modern slavery risks. This includes assessing new suppliers on their approach to labour practices, health and safety, and ethical conduct as part of our onboarding procedures.
Storage Coombe is developing a risk-based supplier audit programme to review compliance with our standards. Higher-risk suppliers may be subject to more detailed assessments or on-site reviews. Where issues are identified, we will work with the supplier to agree corrective actions and track progress. If a supplier is unwilling or unable to address concerns to our satisfaction, we will consider ending the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Storage Coombe encourages all employees, contractors, and suppliers to report any concerns related to modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Concerns can be raised through internal reporting channels or directly to senior management. Reports may be made confidentially, and Storage Coombe will not tolerate any form of retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith.
All allegations will be taken seriously and, where appropriate, investigated promptly and impartially. Where modern slavery or related abuses are suspected or identified, we will take appropriate remedial action and, where necessary, cooperate with relevant authorities.
Training and Awareness
We are working to build awareness of modern slavery risks among our employees and key stakeholders. Relevant staff, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management, and facility operations, will receive guidance and training to help them identify warning signs, understand reporting routes, and apply our policies in practice.
By improving knowledge and awareness, we aim to embed the prevention of modern slavery into our day-to-day decision-making and culture.
Monitoring, Governance, and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing Storage Coombe’s approach to modern slavery sits with senior management, who regularly review our policies, risk assessments, and action plans. We monitor the effectiveness of our measures through supplier feedback, audit findings, reported concerns, and the outcomes of any investigations.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least once every year to reflect changes in our operations, supply chains, legislation, and industry best practice. We are committed to continuous improvement and will update our processes, training, and supplier engagement as needed to strengthen our defences against modern slavery.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Storage Coombe and represents our ongoing commitment to act with integrity and transparency in all our business relationships.
